A Different Take on Alchemy

The more I think about it the more I realize that all of life is alchemy – everything, everywhere, all the time transforming from one state to another. And we are all alchemists. 

The thoughts and emotions that flow through us from one moment to the next, blend together creating our lives as we go.  Whether it’s laughter and joy, fear and jealousy, or our capacity to love and our need to be loved, what a marvelous mixture of mystery we are. The nature of our relationships teaches us and renews us. And when we leave this place, we are transformed. 

Our bodies are an alchemy of divine design. Miraculous systems – an ebb and flow of every imaginable chemical merges with simple and complex electrical processes that pulse through our bodies, powering us across time and space. The will to live and join life even with all its challenges, is the blood that streams through our veins.

 The earth, sun, and moon are each a life force that mixes with our own. Gravity, sunlight and reflected moon glow help to shape what we feel and think as we hurl through the cosmos at lightning speed. And if we’re lucky, at any given moment, we can glimpse the universe from one end to the other with clarity that can leave us speechless.

All of life is alchemy and we are all most certainly alchemists.   With everything that makes up our lives, we chart the unknown. Sometimes we’re scared and sometimes we’re bold. Often, we are both. And it all takes place as our curious nature asks, “Where are we heading and what is this all this about?” And with our senses wide open, we are ever ready to receive the answer.
